This page is here to try and answer questions we know many people have about Abortion Ministry. Please let us know if there are other questions you'd like answered.
Do I have to be a Christian to join you in fighting abortion?
In short, yes. Our "About Us" page makes clear our Protestant Christian identity. We explain our three main positions with some depth on the page labeled, "Three Positions". Please read these.
Do you use Graphic Images?
Yes we do. We recognize that there are emotional issues that tend to influence people's views on the use of graphic images of abortion in ministry. We take these issues into account. However, we must not let them be the deciding factor for whether or not we use these images. We must always let scripture be the deciding factor in why and how we do any ministry. In scripture we are commanded to not only not do evil, but to rather expose it. "Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them." Eph. 5:11. In our exposing the truth of abortion we also effectively educate the willfully ignorant. While the number is far less today, there are still some that try to say that abortions only take place on "blobs of tissue". These graphic images show statements like those to be lies. We use graphic images because we really do love the lost and their unborn babies. These images have led to the saving of souls and babies. Below is a short video with a testimony from a ministry that actually opposes graphic images testifying to their effectiveness(No graphic images are seen in the video).

Are you working to bring about Anti Abortion Legislation?
Yes. In our home state of Oregon we have been in contact with State Representatives and have met with like minded Christians trying to strategize for ways to bring a God honoring end to abortion in the legal arena. Several states around the country have dedicated Christians seeking to bring forth God honoring, biblical legislative proposals.
Are you a "Pro-Life" ministry?
Yes and no. Yes, we are definitely proponents of life. We make that very clear here on this website. However, we are not part of the "Pro-Life" movement. The Pro-Life movement is an ecumenical political movement whose primary goal is the saving of babies. Everyone in this ministry are confessing, Protestant, followers of Christ. Our primary goal is to glorify God. You need not be a Christian to be Pro-Life. In fact the majority of Pro-Life folks are Roman Catholic. In fact you do not have to have any religious affiliation to be Pro-Life. Another major difference between us and the Pro-Life movement is that Pro-Life folks are generally Incrementalists, while this ministry is founded by Immediatists. This means that Pro-Life folks for the most part support legislation that discriminates between children and procedures, etc. For example, an Incrementalist might promote, encourage, possibly even fundraise and donate to legislation that limits abortions to children under twenty weeks gestation or until the child supposedly feels pain, etc. While the Immediatist will only promote, encourage, possibly even fundraise and donate to legislation that brings an end to all abortions at all times and seeks their criminalization. The Immediatist sees God's law that says clearly, "You shall not murder." Ex. 20:13. Therefore the Immediatist does not compromise and call for the end to only some murders. He calls for the end of all murder without exception or compromise. This is no different from seeing God's law clearly state, "You shall not commit adultery." Ex. 20:14, and calling for the immediate and uncompromising end to all adultery. While all sins against another person are bad, abortion is the worst, because all murder is final. As bad as all other broken commandments are, they rarely lead to immediate physical death. Now, having made the distinction between the two groups we want to make clear that while this issue is important and worthy of deep discussion, Christian Incrementalists are welcome to join us in ministry as long as they recognize how we go about that ministry. None of us have attained perfect sanctification and this ministry is about discipling saints as well as trying to save souls and babies.
If you are not "Pro-Life", what are you?
Names and designations are tricky things. Primarily we are simply Protestant Christians seeking to obey scripture in how we deal with all areas in life, including abortion. Some call themselves Abolitionists, in keeping with the mentality of those in the past who worked for the abolition of slavery. Some retain the "Pro-Life" moniker for ease of relation with Christians in the movement. Another term can be Immediatist or Biblical Immediatist. Each term may carry baggage with whoever you may be explaining yourself too. Remember, monikers and titles aren't nearly so important as what we believe. Articulation and patience with all questioners is essential if we're to build unity and a consensus on action. Obviously our biblical actions outweigh and considerations for title or status.
Will you work with other faiths or people of no faith?
That is a simple question with a complicated and multi faceted answer. To start we must remember that this is a Protestant Christian ministry. We seek our wisdom from scripture and not man or organizations. It is because we recognize abortion as the sin of murder that we call for its complete and immediate end. Also, as it is murder we believe it must be criminalized as such. These are Christian ideas found in the Bible and many will willingly separate from us and our activities because of our uncompromising stand on a biblical, law and gospel foundation. As that is the case we will not promote interfaith/Pro-Life events as we do not agree on core issues of why we do what we do(See Three Positions page). In fact, often times when Bible honoring Christians go to abortion clinics Catholics and other "Pro-Life" folks will even go so far as to hinder law and gospel proclamation. We will not go to a Catholic/other religion's gathering and pray together any more than we would go to one of their non abortion related prayer meetings. In short we do not partner in ministry with those who oppose biblical ministry. We must not be unequally yoked as a ministry. So, can we work together anywhere? Yes. When we move forward biblically sound legislation we will have public petitions, and information campaigns. We pray that when we put forward God honoring immediatist based legislation, that people of all Pro-Life ideologies will sign on and make their voice heard. As we are simply a Christian ministry seeking a biblically sound end to abortion and are not necessarily anyone's Pastors/Elders, we make no demands or seek to restrict anyone in their participation in other interfaith/Pro-Life groups as individuals. It is simply that Save Souls and Babies as a ministry will not partner with unbiblical and non Christian groups. Many individuals may still participate in "Life-Chains/Marches" or take part in local Pro-Life chapters, etc.. Each Christian must act in accordance with their conscience as guided by the word of God. We want to be able to help disciple one another with any knowledge and experiences God has shown us from all areas of life. In the end, any born again Protestant Christian, willing to grow and help others grow can join us.
